Lake Mary, FL— Charisma House is proud to be the first to make the official announcement that The Harbinger, a book warning of God’s judgment on America by Messianic rabbi Jonathan Cahn has reached the milestone of 100 weeks on both The New York Times printed and extended best-seller lists. Although falsely and prematurely reported by other media outlets in the last few days, Charisma House is the first to accurately report on this after receiving confirmation from The New York Times.
Published on January 3, 2012, The Harbinger debuted on the NYT best seller list on its first week of release and has gone into reprint 22 times, selling over 1.2 million copies. Maintaining momentum through media appearances, enthusiastic readership, and even a viral video taken at the 2013 Presidential Inaugural Prayer breakfast viewed over 500,000 times, this first book by Cahn has become a catalyst for spiritual growth and part of national discourse in the United States.
Subtitled “The Ancient Mystery That Holds the Secret of America’s Future,” The Harbinger is published by FrontLine, an imprint of Charisma House. The book traces a series of detailed parallels between what has happened in the United States since the 2001 terrorist attacks—including the economic collapse—and Israel’s history after it turned away from God. Told in fictional narrative, the book unfolds how nine signs concealed in recent events reveal God’s progressive judgment.
Tessie DeVore, Charisma House Book Group executive vice-president, said, “We attribute the success of The Harbinger to something much bigger than ourselves. God has entrusted us with this crucial message, and we are humbled by its vast acceptance and impact.” She also added, “Not only is The Harbinger a publishing phenomenon, it has become a catalyst and rallying cry to pray for America and its leaders.”
The Harbinger is the eleventh New York Times best seller for Charisma House Book Group. Fasting by Jentezen Franklin, 23 Minutes In Hell by Bill Wiese, and The Seven Pillars of Health by Don Colbert, MD, have also previously made the list.
Ancillary products expanding on the books premise include The Harbinger Companion Study Guide and The Harbinger Decoded DVD, the official documentary that provides an audio/visual experience for viewers to learn more about the Harbinger teachings, Jonathan Cahn and the books origin.
Charisma House Book Group has also published the million-copy selling books Jerusalem Countdown by John Hagee, and The Bait of Satan by John Bevere.

Lake Mary, FL— The cross of Jesus Christ is offensive. Its implications, an outrage. Its message, scandalous. International speaker and author, Rod Parsley delves into this shocking Biblical declaration in his latest book release, The Cross (Charisma House, 2013).
Parsley says at the time of Jesus’ crucifixion the message of the cross was a stumbling block for the religious, tradition-loving Jews and an absurdity to the intellectual Greeks. Those are essentially the same two responses of all who reject that message today.
“In a nation where a cross once topped every new church steeple and figured prominently in the interior architecture of every new house of worship, the cross has fallen out of fashion,” Parsley says.
He states that the cross is disappearing from our cityscapes and church platforms, by our own choice. We have degraded the significance of the cross to miniscule emblems of fashion and décor.
“In a broader, profounder, and more troubling sense we’ve been voluntarily removing it from our hearts and minds,” he continues. “Silently, steadily, stealthily—without fanfare or debate—we have slipped the cross out of our preaching, from our singing, and from our daily living. As a result, the cross is fading from our collective Christian consciousness.”
Parsley calls for a cross-less generation to return to the hallmark of its faith. In The Cross, he utilizes his well-known teaching style, taking readers on a journey of discovery into the power, majesty and beauty of the cross. Readers will learn in a new way, how to reclaim that power in life.
“One thing is certain,” Parsley says, “there is no triumphant, culture transforming Christianity, without the cross.”
Rod Parsley is the author of more than fifty books, including his New York Times best seller Culturally Incorrect and his most recent Living on Our Heads. An international speaker for the past thirty years, he has appeared on numerous media outlets, and his daily television program is viewed by millions worldwide. He is the president and founder of the Center for Moral Clarity, the founder of Harvest Preparatory School and Valor Christian College, and the senior pastor and founder of World Harvest Church in Columbus, Ohio, where he resides with his wife, Joni, and their two children.

Charisma House, the book group of Charisma Media, announces an updated translation of the King James Version, under the name Modern English Version (MEV). http://modernenglishversion.com/
The MEV is the most modern translation produced in the King James tradition in 30 years. This word-for-word translation maintains the beauty of the past yet provides fresh clarity for a new generation of Bible readers.
The MEV also accurately communicates God's Word anew as it capitalizes references of God, maintaining reverence of the scripture.
“To Bible readers who value biblical truth, the MEV literally translates God's Word in a way that preserves the message but remains readable for today's world," said Tessie DeVore, executive vice president of Charisma House. "And because of this, we anticipate that the MEV will have broad ecumenical and consumer acceptance."
Editors of the MEV Bible translation represent institutions such as the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary, Harvard University, Oral Roberts University, Westminster Theological Seminary, and Yale University.
“In my capacity as the senior editorial advisor, I want to introduce you to a fresh and exciting translation of Holy Scriptures—the Modern English Version,” said Stanley M. Horton, ThD. “It is second to none.”
While most translations are preferred for either study, reading or devotions, the MEV seeks to fulfill all of these needs in one Bible with clarity.
“I expect that this translation will be readily understood by thoughtful readers of the Bible even as they find the classic truths of eternity expressed in understandable language of today’s English speaker,” said Jonathan M. Watt, PhD, Reformed Presbyterian Theological Seminary adjunct professor of biblical studies.
“I highly recommend the MEV as a translator’s Bible for missions work to provide the Word of God to all English-speaking people around the world,” said James F. Linzey, DD, chief editor, MEV chairman, Committee on Bible Translation.

Todd Starnes, host of Fox News & Commentary, recently signed a one-book deal with Charisma Media’s book group, Charisma House, for the 2014 release of God Less America (FrontLine).
God Less America willhighlight Starnes’ conviction that American Christians are facing uncertain times. He states that religious liberty has been undermined, and we live in a day when right is wrong and wrong is right.
Encompassing his well-known passionate take on the moral culture war, Starnes’ upcoming book uses a humorous style and far-reaching collection of stories and interviews to expose the assault on America’s foundational Christian values.
Tessie DeVore, executive vice president of Charisma House, said, “Todd Starnes is a great communicator that has keen insight into the cause of America's eroding culture values.” She continued, “We are very pleased to acquire him as an author and fully believe in the message of this book and its potential to create national dialogue.”
As a seasoned reporter, Starnes has been an active voice in the media speaking against the moral decline in America. In July 2012, he responded directly when the fast-food chain Chick-fil-A faced public ridicule for its owner’s stance against same-sex marriage.
Charisma House/FrontLine is also the publisher of the New York Times best seller The Harbinger, which traces a series of detailed parallels between what has happened in the United States since the 2001 terrorist attacks—including the economic collapse—and Israel’s history after it turned away from God. The Harbinger has sold more than one million units and charted for 79 weeks on the New York Times and USA Today’s Top 150 Books.
Starnes’ Fox News blog reaches 1.9 million people per month. He is also the author of Dispatches From Bitter America, They Popped My Hood and Found Gravy on the Dipstick, and a Portrait of Christ.

Has God used tragedy and economic collapse to warn America? To incite the nation to turn back to Him?
Jonathan Cahn is author of The Harbinger: The Ancient Mystery That Holds the Secret of America’s Future. The book discusses God’s warnings to Israel before the nation’s judgment and downfall, and how the same signs of destruction have manifested in the United States in the past decade.
“Before God judges a nation, He sends warning,” Cahn has said. “But America, like Israel, has not responded with repentance but with defiance.”
Cahn grew up a Reform Jew, became an atheist, then surrendered his life to Christ at 20 years old. A Messianic Jew, he serves as senior pastor and rabbi of the Beth Israel Worship Center in Wayne, N.J., and leads Hope of the World Ministries, an evangelistic outreach.
In The Harbinger, Cahn picks apart Isaiah 9:10, where Israel determines to rebuild its devastated country by its own means, defying God. God had repeatedly warned the people of impending danger if they didn’t acknowledge Him, and they paid the price for failing to listen.
America, in a more modern way, is receiving the same warnings, Cahn argues, and points out the declaration by some public figures that the country will come back stronger than ever—the same idea expressed in Isaiah 9:10.
Some Christian critics have questioned whether God would send the same kind of warning signs again or whether the Bible really alludes to America. Some differ on when the parallel prophecies began. But virtually all have agreed on Cahn’s bottom line: America is in trouble if its people continue ignoring God.
The Harbinger became a New York Times best-seller the first week of its release in early 2012 and has been circulated on Capitol Hill. The documentary version, called The Isaiah 9:10 Judgment, continues to be a best-selling faith film in America.
Yet with all the talk of impending judgment on America, Cahn leaves room for hope. Some people ask him if there will be judgment or revival.
“It can be both,” he says, adding, “If there was no hope, there would be no warning.”
It would “take a miracle” for revival, Cahn says, but “God’s got heart, and He’s into miracles.”
Cahn cites 2 Chronicles 7:14: “If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”
“It’s got to begin with us … with repentance,” Cahn says. “As we watch the culture getting darker, we have to not be afraid. We have to not shrink back. We have to shine brighter.”
If Christians were the “light” they are supposed to be, he says, America might not be this dark.
So what can we do?
“Being bold to spread the gospel is crucial. Crucial,” Cahn says—even when others try to silence it.
Cahn warns Christians not to be lukewarm. He emphasizes the power of prayer and urges believers to speak up and take action on issues that affect the moral fiber of the nation. A nationwide outreach called My Hope America With Billy Graham, he says, is one way to communicate hope in Christ and potentially change people’s lives.
“God is real. He is over everything. He is calling. … We need, as believers, to take His calling … seriously,” Cahn says. “The time is now. Not tomorrow. The time is now.”
Can the Church Respond to Depression? by Jenny Swindall
It’s amazing how many Christians are suffering from depression. There are precious people who love the Lord dearly yet find themselves struggling in a day-to-day battle to simply enjoy their lives.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports that 1 in 10 Americans take an antidepressant (it’s even higher in women), yet at the same time so many leaders in the church find themselves ill-equipped when trying to understand and minister to those who suffer from this often-confusing condition.
I am thankful to see a surge of great resources coming into the marketplace that are specifically geared toward emotional healing so the church will become better equipped to help meet this ever-growing need.
I have noticed many Christians seek out medical help first without even considering what spiritual guidance they may need as well. Medicine can address only the physical causes and effects of depression but will never help someone with the spiritual and emotional component of depression.
So, how do you replenish your hope when it has become dangerously low? As a believer in Jesus, I believe the only safe place to lay our trust down is at the feet of Jesus. Even the good things in life (people we love, our careers, our passions, this world) cannot fulfill and mend a broken heart. Jesus, our Prince of Peace, is the only giver of God-hope—the kind of hope that has eternal value and the one true peace attached to it.
If you or a loved one is suffering from the hopelessness of depression, be fearless in seeking out a Christian counselor who can help begin the process of emotional healing. If you are a minister or leader in the church, seek to understand more about this condition and run toward—rather than away from—those in your church who are suffering.
Here are some final thoughts as we look to minister to those who suffer from depression:
1. Seeking medical treatment is good and sometimes necessary, but equal attention needs to be paid to the spiritual causes of depression.
2. Healing from depression is most often a process. Everyone wants a quick fix when they are feeling bad, but for a vast majority of people, God’s healing comes over time as the Lord does a mighty work in the person’s heart and mindset.
3. God can only fully work in a person’s life when they are obedient to His Word and promptings. There must be willingness in the person to do what God directs them to do. For example, if God asks us to forgive, we have to obey. Not obeying means we hold on to the bitterness and our hearts are left unhealed.
4. God does miracles today, and He loves to heal the brokenhearted. Don’t give up if healing doesn’t come in your timeframe. Trust the Lord that He will finish the work He starts.
Jenny Swindall is the author of Freedom From Depression (Charisma House, 2013). She has a Bachelor of Science degree in microbiology from Auburn University and started her career in clinical pharmaceutical and biotech sales. Freedom From Depression was birthed out of Jenny’s own struggle and triumph over depression more than a decade ago. Through powerful storytelling, biblical teaching and care for people, she ministers to many on subjects such as emotional healing, Christian dating, how to study the Bible, women’s issues and living a Holy Spirit–filled life.

Lake Mary, FL—Charisma Media launches Philippines-based author Joey Bonifacio's latest teaching on the power of connecting to God and one another in The LEGO Principle.
Steve Strang, CEO of Charisma Media and one of America’s most influential evangelicals according to Time magazine, featured Bonifacio in the September 2012 issue of Charisma magazine.
The Discipleship in Action column features a look inside Victory church in Manila, Philippines, where Bonifacio serves as one of its leaders. The multi-site church is home to more than 5,000 small groups (attended by approximately 62,000 members) and has consistently been growing at about 25% annually over the last 12 years. As the congregation grows, it is anchored on one simple concept: discipleship, as Jesus taught it.
The LEGO Principle follows the lead of LEGO, a company that has been responsible for transforming the way people play, learn, think, and enjoy for more than fifty years.
Bonifacio reveals that discipleship begins and ends with relationship—and gives the building blocks for being effective in reaching others.
“Just like LEGO pieces that connect at the top and at the bottom, discipleship is about connecting to God and with one another,” Bonifacio writes. “This is the LEGO Principle: Connect first to God and then to one another. It does not matter what one’s skin color, social background, age, or denomination is—God designed us all to connect to Him and then to one another. This to Jesus was what it meant to be His disciple.”
The LEGO Principle is available through major international retailers such as Amazon.com, Barnes & Noble, Books-A-Million and Christianbook.com.
